It. Just. Begins.
You are standing in what appears to be a hallway
It’s black as a dark roast
Off in the distance you can see a faint, flickering
Light…
But even surrounded by the dismal darkness
The light is no help in bringing you to a feeling of calm
You check your heart rate…its fine
Yet, your entire body is shaking uncontrollably.
A bell rings.
It strikes you just like lightning
A neon sign appears above
"RUN"
You begin to edge forward, unsure
Of why you would listen
You start to pick up speed
Slowly, yet behind you
You hear something moving.
You pick up the pace running for light that
Now seems to slip further away
The footsteps of this giant creature get closer
As it continues chasing you.
You’re running at full speed now.
Its right behind you,
For what could only be a split second, you feel
As if you’ve just fallen backwards off a high dive.
The creature has grabbed you,
Pulling you in past escape.
Smothering you until you
Cant struggle anymore….You black out.
It. Just. Begins.
Standing in what appears to be a hallway
A bell rings.

A lady sparrow flying high…
In a sky
A sky that’s so blue,
It takes away the blue.
From left to right she flies through the trees
A breeze is the only thing left in her path
The sunrise cant stop demise
The sparrow’s kin wont sleep while she’s gone
They worry about how they will eat in the morning
How can they win the world without their mother?
But there is something in this sparrows eyes.
Something that makes me believe something I
Thought died in me a long time ago.
Don’t say a word…because it’s not enough.
Enjoy the little things you know.
Can’t ever say I’ve succeeded
Lie and say I wont.
If I leave you will you cry the night away?
If I leave you will you try to make me stay?
Birdy’s fly away but always return to their tree.
I’m scared If I leave you’ll be just fine without me.
THE NATURAL
3/29/1934- 11/3/2015
This place smells funny
As if disappointment and decay melded into one
Uncles and cousins stir about
Grandma can’t stay still
Smoking cigarettes pacing around
Praying for peace in hell
Room filled with family pictures,
Chuck Berry quietly fills the silence,
As if that were possible…
Mom seeks any mental distraction,
Family secrets unleashed
Slowly realizing these people
Could be nothing other
Than YOUR family
Cupcakes and Cookies cant fulfill loss.
Only time can heal,
Heal millions of memories
Heal an unwanted beginning
The room feels like a falling elevator
No stopping the inevitable
Or the natural order of death
Gone in peace and rest the same
I think I’ll quit smoking and drinking
Tomorrow…
